Glenn McIntyre Cowan was born in Yorkton, SK on August 16, 1925, the youngest of two sons born to Robert and Isabella Cowan of Rokeby, SK. When Glenn was 17 his older brother, Murray was killed in action while serving in the Royal Canadian Navy.

Dear Editor: The Sunrise Health Region has added a new policy to their extensive, existing list of policies. They have now added a no smoking ban to that list. As of July 1, 2013 no one is allowed to smoke anywhere on their properties.

Mr. Joe Yaholnitsky of Kamsack, formerly of Rhein and the Stornoway district passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Kamsack Health Centre. He was 98 years of age.
