After more than a decade as the head librarian at the Yorkton Public Library Melody Wood announced her retirement several weeks ago. Tuesday a come and go event was held at YPL to officially mark Wood's retirement.

Olga Waselenchuk passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012, after a lengthy period of poor health. Olga was born on September 12, 1934 to William and Katherine Koropchuk in the Jedburgh district, the eldest of three children.

Local baseball league expands to 12 teams

The South East Senior Baseball League will look slightly different this year for local baseball enthusiasts. There will be some new faces as well as some not seen in awhile as one team was introduced, and a second team re-introduced.
