Yorkton This Week

The annual New Year's tradition of Yorkton and Melville hooking up in a Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League home-and-home set went the Millionaires' way in 2012, winning both contests.

Colleen McGregor passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. She was 55 years of age. Colleen was born on September 21, 1956 at Saskatoon, SK to Mary Lou (nee Harrell) and David Kennedy.

Joseph Dennis Megyesi, beloved husband to Geraldine (deceased) of 40 years, and present husband to Barbara, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 22, at St. Peter's Catholic Hospital in Melville, SK. He was 70 years of age.

During the early morning hours of June 20, 50-year-old Yorkton man Jimmy Ray Wiebe was murdered in a robbery while working a late shift at the Shell gas station on Smith Street.
