New business development for city

A major new business development is about to start along Highways 9 and 10 adjacent to the Parkland Mall. The development, which will be phased in with various business locations over a number of years is scheduled to begin this year with a hotel.

Census on now

City residents are being urged to complete the 2011 Canadian Census package, which was delivered to every household last week.

Deer Park golf dates

The 2011 golf schedule has been released by Deer Park Municipal golf course and includes 12 dates to mark on your calendars. The season has just started and the first date to mark is May 27 for the 20th Annual Richie Hall classic.

The City of Yorkton parks staff has begun works on Patrick Park to establish a course designed to introduce the sport of dis golf. Holes were filled last Friday morning and baskets were set in place for the game.

In an effort to re-vamp Yorkton's Patrick Park, the City of Yorkton has started to design a course to help promote a game known as disc golf.

Over the past week and a bit there has been more badminton games in the City of Yorkton then you could swing a racquet at. There was an awful lot of badminton played here within the past five days.
