I saw a story last week about first time home buyers in Toronto and how a price of $45,000 over 35 years ago has ballooned to $690,000 today. It’s over-simplifying, but that’s the problem with the Canadian economy in a nutshell.

A special gardening market occurred at SIGN this weekend where people could browse different products available to satisfy the heart of any greenthumb.

A racquetball tournament was held in Yorkton by Saskatchewan Racquetball, and the high-octane sport drew some intense competition and a great turnout.

The Kinsmen held their 100th Anniversary Party in Yorkton, and the event at the Gallagher Centre was pretty much standing room only. The party, with a 1920s theme, had a packed house in support of the crimson blazered community organization.

Yorkton is a smaller city, so the homelessless is a bit more hidden. You're not seeing people walking around with signs asking for change, but it is here.

The Yorkton Curling Club hosted its annual Senior Bonspiel Feb. 17 to 21. When the final rocks were thrown Friday afternoon the Bernie Trischuk team had topped the event taking the ‘A’ side final. The Lorne Fruin foursome took the ‘B’ event.
