Break and enter suspect injured in stabbing

A homeowner reported to police that he left home for a few minutes and, upon his return, he discovered two unknown men inside.

SASKATOON – A 37-year-old man is facing charges following a break and enter to a home in the 1800 block of Avenue D North.

At approximately 1:50 a.m., May 29, police were called to the residence. The owner reported having left the home for a few minutes and, upon his return, he discovered two unknown men inside. An altercation between the three ensued, resulting in one of the suspects receiving a stab wound. Both suspects fled the scene on foot.

A short time later police received a report of an injured male asking for assistance in the 1300 block of Idylwyld Drive North. Police were subsequently notified that the same male, a 37-year-old, was receiving treatment for a serious injury at St. Paul's hospital.
