SASKTOON – A man has died while in custody at the Regional Psychiatric Centre on March 15.
Correctional Service Canada said the individual's name has not been released to comply with a court-ordered publication ban.
At the time of his death, he had been serving a sentence of five years for sexual assault and indecent assault since Jan. 29, 2020.
CSC said the man’s next of kin have been notified.
CSC will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
