Meadow Lake RCMP arrest two people after man held captive, assaulted

SASKATOON – Two people have been charged with forcibly confining and assaulting a man with a weapon.

Sheldon Derocher, 44, and Crystal Gower, 31, both of Meadow Lake, have been arrested following the incident on July 27.

Meadow Lake RCMP say they got a call at about 7:25 a.m. last Thursday about a man who had non-life-threatening injuries after being held and assaulted at a home in Meadow Lake.

The man was able to escape. Police went to the home where the incident occurred and arrested Derocher and Gower. They say the two were known to the victim.

Gower appears in Meadow Lake Provincial Court Thursday and Derocher appeared on July 31.

Meadow Lake RCMP continues to investigate with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s North Battleford General Investigation Section and North Battleford Forensic Identification Services.
