Police charge man for series of break-ins at assisted living facilities

SASKATOON – Saskatoon Police Service has arrested a 48-year-old man they say is responsible for multiple break and enters to assisted living facilities dating back to December 2023.

On Dec. 2, 2023, at about 4:40 a.m. the suspect broke into an assisted living facility on the 1200 Block of Osler Street. The suspect came back later that morning at approximately 8:30 a.m. and broke in again. In both occurrences, he was confronted by staff and left without further incident.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 27, 2024, the suspect broke into an assisted living facility on the 2900 Block of Louise Street. Once inside, the suspect made his way to an underground parkade, accessed multiple unlocked vehicles, and stole an unknown amount of property. The suspect returned to the same facility in the 2900 Block of Louise Street at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 19, broke in, but was unsuccessful in stealing any property.
