Prince Albert police arrest woman wanted since November 2023

PRINCE ALBERT – Police arrested Brianna Forest on Feb. 10 who was wanted since November.

Prince Albert Police Service officers saw a suspicious vehicle parked in a no-parking zone on the 500 block of 24th Street East.

When officers approached, they say both Forest and Anthony Smerek appeared to be sleeping.

During a search of the vehicle, they seized a weigh scale, a machete, a modified firearm, crystal methamphetamine, and $2,260 in cash.

Smerek was charged with careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Forest was additionally charged with weapons related offences and breaching her release order. Forest was wanted by RCMP for aggravated assault and forcible confinement for a Sept. 19, 2023, incident on Sturgeon Lake First Nation and by Prince Albert Police Service for theft of a vehicle and assault with a weapon.

Forest appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court Feb. 12 and she was remanded in custody until her next appearance on Feb. 15 for a bail hearing.
