New suspects arrested in Aron Lumar case

On Thursday, the RPS arrested two new suspects, 30-year-old Patrick Akapew and 38-year-old Tyler Wayne Edwards.

REGINA — Two more suspects have been arrested in relation to a homicide near Grand Coulee.

On June 10, the RCMP were called to the area for a report of a deceased individual.

The Saskatchewan RCMP’s major crimes unit launched an investigation, determining the death a homicide.

Later, the victim was identified as 35-year-old Aron Lunan. 

Further investigation led the RCMP and Regina Police Service (RPS) to determine that the case originated in Regina. Thus, the RPS took over the case.

This led to the arrest of 24-year-old Britain Volk. Earlier this week, Volk was charged with first-degree murder.

On Thursday, the RPS arrested two new suspects, 30-year-old Patrick Akapew and 38-year-old Tyler Wayne Edwards.

Both were charged with first-degree murder.

The two suspects made an appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Friday. No further details were immediately available.
