Description released of man who shot rifle in N. B'ford streets

BATTLEFORDS – Update: Batltefords RCMP have an updated description of the suspect. He is described as in his early 20s, approximately six feet tall with a slim build, wearing black pants and a white-and-black T-shirt. 

Original story: Police are searching for a male who was armed with a rifle and was shooting it into the air. No injuries were reported to RCMP.

Battlefords RCMP say they got a call that an armed man was discharging a rifle into the air on 108 Street towards 13th Avenue in North Battleford at about 9:10 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

Officers immediately responded and their investigation determined the man was discharging a firearm into the air.

 Officers began patrolling the area and located the male, who fled on foot. They searched for him with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services but were unable to locate him.

The male is described as wearing a black and white t-shirt.

Battlefords RCMP continue to investigate. They ask anyone with information, or who captured video in the 108th Street/13th Avenue area between 9 and 10 p.m. on April 4, to contact them at 306-446-1720.
