Update: Sutter Place incident involved threatened self-harm

A 21-year-old man was assessed by the SPS Police and Crisis Team and transported to hospital for further assessment.

SASKATOON — Saskatoon Police Service says they safely concluded an incident involving multiple firearms yesterday that saw traffic restricted and a heavy police presence in the area of the 200-block Sutter Place.

On May 1, at around 7:30 p.m., police were called to a report that a man was threatening self-harm. Upon arrival, says SPS, officers learned there were multiple firearms inside. Shortly after, a 21-year-old man exited the residence, unarmed. Multiple firearms were located and seized inside.

The 21-year-old man was assessed by the SPS Police and Crisis Team (PACT), and transported to hospital for further assessment.
