Trial set for accused facing weapons and drug charges after house fire

Police were called to a house fire after responding emergency personnel saw drugs and paraphernalia in the home.

LA RONGE – A trial has been set for June for Scott Boehr and Kaydence Charles who face weapons and drug charges following a house fire in Air Ronge earlier this year.

On Jan. 9, La Ronge RCMP were called to a house fire on Chief James Roberts Street after responding emergency personnel saw drugs and paraphernalia in the home.

Inside, police seized about 51 grams of fentanyl, 138 grams of an unknown substance, 13 grams methamphetamine, a sawed-off rifle, a rifle, ammunition, and other drug paraphernalia.

Boehr, 32, from Southend, and Charles,19, from La Ronge, are both charged with numerous firearms and drug trafficking related offences, and failing to comply with release conditions.

A youth, who can’t be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was also charged.
