The Terriers did not have the start they were hoping for in Melville Saturday.

The Yorkton Rawtec Maulers can’t seem to catch a break. The Maulers lost three home games last week, solidifying their position at the rock-bottom of the SMAAHL standings with a dismal record of 1-14.

The Yorkton Terriers are in unfamiliar territory based on the last few seasons.

The Yorkton RawTec Maulers are struggling early in the Saskatchewan AAA Midget Hockey League. The Maulers have found only one win in nine starts for two points to sit 11th in the 12-team league.

The Yorkton Maulers scored their first victory of the regular season last weekend, hopefully laying the groundwork for more victories after a series of disappointing showings.

The Yorkton Terriers dropped a pair of weekend home games. The losses leave the Terriers with a 2-4-1 record and five points for third place in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Viterra Division.

Young players within Yorkton Minor Hockey will have an organization-wide training program to improve skills this season.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League season began for the Yorkton Terriers on Sept. 14. Unfortunately, the Terriers’ first game of the season was a 6-4 loss in Weyburn. Greg Mulhall opened the season scoring for the Terriers 10:39 into the contest.
