Coach says team 'up to play' Stars

The Yorkton Hyundai Terriers were back on the road for action Tuesday. The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League contest saw the Terriers facing off in Kindersley against the Klippers.

First the bad news: the Battlefords have landed on top of yet another national ranking. Now the good news: there is no bad news.

The Estevan Bruins recent run of success came to an end Saturday night in a 5-1 loss to the Melville Millionaires.

After dropping a 6-2 decision Friday in Flin Flon the Yorkton Hyundai Terriers were back at it Saturday against the same Bomber team, and again in the Manitoba franchise’s home arena.

The Yorkton Terriers headed to Manitoba’s north to face the Flin Flon Bombers in action tonight. Brandon Cianflone put the hometown side on the board first in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL), scoring 11:38 into the contest.

It was a successful homecoming for Estevan Bruins forwards Tanner and Tyson Manz Tuesday night, as the Bruins defeated the Notre Dame Hounds 5-4 in a shootout in the Manz twins’ hometown of Southey.

The number “13” proved a lucky one for Parker Rey, who earned a shutout Tuesday night as the Battlefords North Stars got a 3-0 win over the Humboldt Broncos.

It was a battle of first place teams Saturday in North Battlefords. The Yorkton Hyundai Terriers headed west to face the North Stars sitting atop the Viterra Division of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League with a 10-9-1 record.
