Local efforts are continuing to save at least part of the old Saskatchewan Hospital, in the wake of reports that the province has failed to receive any private bids to purchase the hospital.

There were two hole in ones at the Rustic Nine course near North Battleford this summer. On Aug. 30, Matteo Miedema was golfing with his friends when he got a hole in one on number five.

Bill C-71 was sponsored by Liberal Minister of Public Safety Ralph Goodale, and introduced in March 2018. In Goodale’s speech introducing the bill, he said the government wouldn’t reintroduce a long-gun registry.

The new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon will officially open to patients on Sept. 29, when all pediatric and maternal inpatients will move in from Royal University Hospital and new admissions will be accepted.

Brett Wilson was back in his hometown North Battleford on Wednesday, sharing news with Battlefords Chamber of Commerce members and business leaders of his initiatives and efforts in the Battlefords.

The Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum are inviting the public to take part in their fifth annual Ears and Beers event. It is scheduled for Sept. 20 at the Battleford Legion Hall. Happy hour begins at 4:30 p.m.
