In a sure sign summer is fast coming to an end, hockey is back in action at the Civic Centre.

On Aug. 19, Turtleford RCMP received a complaint of a break, enter and theft from the Paynton Ferry Crossing Shop in the RM of Turtle River. A worker arrived to find the shop had been broken into and several items of value were stolen.

With a fall federal election fast approaching, both the Liberals and the Greens have confirmed they have candidates in place in Battlefords-Lloydminster.

Battlefords RCMP have announced a major seizure of drugs and weapons as a result of a search conducted Sunday morning. According to a news release, Aug. 31 at approximately 1:30 p.m.

The North Battleford City Kinsmen Band is about to turn 70 years old, and there are big plans in the works to celebrate the occasion. The intention is for the Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts to host a concert Oct. 20 at 2 p.m.
