We are in the midst of fall suppers even in the smallest hamlets. With harvest taking forever to complete, some areas have bumped suppers into November. Here are a few of the dates to mark on your calendar: Wednesday, Oct.

On Oct. 1, the Unity Chamber of Commerce hosted an all candidates forum to give the public an opportunity to hear platforms and pose questions to candidates regarding the upcoming federal election taking place Oct. 21.

Election activities are in full swing in Battlefords-Lloydminster as Marcella Pedersen has now officially opened her NDP campaign office. The campaign office is located at 1462 - 100th Street.

“I have been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement I'm getting concerning my speaking out on the deplorable state of seniors housing here in the Battlefords,” says Valleyview Towers II tenant Natalie Berrecloth.

Miss Emma Brown, the owner of the Arlington Hotel in Asquith from 1912 until 1947, was 47 years old when she arrived in Asquith in 1910. She was born in London, England, in 1863 and may have spent some time in Colorado before coming to Canada.

New Horizons held their golf windup Monday, Sept. 30. Unfortunately, the afternoon golf was cancelled due to inclement weather, however an exceptional supper, put on by Carol and her staff at the Main Course Restaurant, did go ahead.
