Acting on an anonymous tip, family, friends, former classmates and other community members spent Friday searching Finlayson Island and area for Ashley Morin. Morin, 31, has been missing since July 10. She was last in contact with her family that day.

There is fall in the air on the prairies. Even though the daytime temperatures are often still warm, at night our temperatures are dipping low enough to stop growth in hot crops like tomatoes and to colour up leaves.

Searching back alleys as a result of trying to find the missing girl during the Amber Alert made some town leaders aware some trees and shrubs in Battleford are overgrown.

It’s been confirmed that the fall festival slated for downtown North Battleford will not go ahead this Saturday. The annual outdoor event, which usually includes sidewalk sales and classic cars, is organized by the downtown BID.
