Dear Editor A few years ago, I tried driving a zero-turn lawn mower for the first time. I was thrown off and the machine ran me over. It was a life-or-death situation and resulted in the loss of my left leg below the knee.

The fire ban that had been in place in the city of North Battleford and the RM of North Battleford has been lifted. The fire ban had been in place since May 1.

The first quarter statistical data is in for Battlefords RCMP detachment showing declines in several areas. Overall calls for service for the January to March period are down from 2,880 last year to 2,726 this year.

Five students were onboard a school bus involved in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 4 and 29th Street in Battleford at 8:30 a.m.

In order to save money, Living Sky School Division is down to one contracted school bus service rather than two. First Student will now be the only contracted bus service. Southland Transportation will no longer be.

The last nine months have turned into a long journey for Premier Scott Moe. The question now is: Where does he go from here? Perhaps he doesn’t have to go too far.

Town council has set aside $35,000 toward demolishing the old St. Vital Church, but only if council approves the decision. Nothing regarding the old church, councillors say, is certain at this point. The money could be used elsewhere.
