Saturday, Dec. 23, a group of Canada 150 medal winners got together with former MP Gerry Ritz at the Dekker Centre for a photograph recognizing community leaders who received Canada 150 medals.

News from Pine Island Apartments

Our sympathy to the Scott family on the passing of Virgil (Bud) Scott. His funeral was in the United Church. An article I missed last week was before Christmas the Maidstone RCMP delivered chocolates to all the seniors at the Pine Island Apartments.

There have been guilty pleas in court in connection to a Jan. 5 incident at The Lighthouse Serving the Battlefords, a shelter for homeless in North Battleford. Sunrise Spyglass has pled guilty to mischief and to assaulting a peace officer.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged with luring a child following an RCMP investigation. According to police, on Jan. 7, Battlefords RCMP received a complaint from a youth about unwanted electronic messages from an adult male.
