After a few years of planning, fundraising, and organizing volunteers, 106th Street will see some new residents. Habitat for Humanity’s first North Battleford home was introduced to the public on Wednesday, June 26.

The 12th annual Northern Lights bluegrass festival will take place Aug. 18-20 at the Ness Creek site. The lineup this year features Grammy-winner Dom Flemons of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, along with a number of Canadian performers.

Along Spiritwood’s Main Street are sights you wouldn’t expect to see in a town of 1,000. In the library’s window are lakeside scenes, while in the window of The Nines hair salon, stands a rooster in bold colour.

With their coaching staff now set in place, the Battlefords North Stars will now be looking to fill another hole within their organization.
