MAIDSTONE — Cards were played March 30 at the Maidstone Drop In Centre. High score went to Lil McMillan and low to Dorothy Kissick. I missed cards Monday as I spent the weekend at Medicine Hat with my daughter Linda and husband Larry Fiddler.

UNITY — Entering the Unity Composite High School, incoming students and visitors can see a showcase representing student accomplishments in sports, the arts and other programs.

We’ve seen robins and geese, ladybugs and blooming buds – let’s hope spring is finally here. You can see the workers at the worksite on a regular basis putting the finishing touches on the new Unity swimming pool that is set to open this season.

Armella Sonntag, animator for Development and Peace, gave a brief presentation to several women at the International Woman’s Day Event held at the Chapel Gallery in North Battleford. She says to be influential we must act out of who we are.

The ARC Creative Studios Gallery, located at 1106 -101st St. in North Battleford, is hosting its first exhibition of paintings entitled CENTERED from local artist Chris Hodge.

District No. 33 hosted the North West Regional 4-H public speaking competition in Canwood March 29. Entered were 35 talented and brave speakers talking on a wide variety of topics.
