An author with Battlefords connections will be in the community to launch her latest book next week. Elinor Florence will be in Battleford at the Saskatchewan launch of her novel Bird's Eye View at Fred Light Museum Friday, Oct. 31 from 1 to 3 p.m.

The five individuals charged in the Mosquito First Nation fraud case will see their matters return to North Battleford Provincial Court Friday, Nov. 28 at 10 a.m. That is the adjournment date agreed to in court Friday morning.

The case against a North Battleford financial planner accused of defrauding investors goes back to court Tuesday, Nov. 25, where Adelia, aka Adele, Kaminsky is expected to enter a plea.

It should come as no surprise that one of the items the brand-new Planning Committee dealt with at their first meeting Monday night was yet more committee changes at City Hall.

September was another month of downward trends in the statistics for Battlefords City Detachment of the RCMP. Calls for service were down for the month from 1,434 a year ago to 918.

St. James CWL held its 14th annual Pink Night Oct. 15, in support of the Breast Health Centre in Saskatoon. When the doors opened at 6:15 p.m., the crowd poured in and the basement of the church was filled to capacity in a sea of pink.

After missing a couple of quilting days due to harvest, our quilters met again Oct. 17. We will probably meet again on a regular basis again now that harvesting is completed.
