Two streets will be closed all day Sept. 11. The 1400 block of 97th Street and the 1900 block of 102nd Street will be closed all day for water and sewer service installation.

The summer has gone quickly for us and we are now looking forward to fall activities. This month we have a entertainment lined up beginning with the Nifty Fifties singing Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. and on Sept. 16 at 7 p.m.

Brenden Heinrich scored twice as the Battlefords North Stars shut out the Broncos 5-0 Wednesday night in Humboldt. It was the North Stars' final exhibition game of the year. They finished 3-1 in their pre-season schedule.

The Rustic Nine Golf Course had its second hole in one of the 2014 season. Keanu Foulds from North Battleford got his first hole in one on Sept. 5 on hole No. 5.

The person charged with uttering a threat to blow up the bridge between North Battleford and Battleford has been released pending his next court appearance.

Recently a friend and I took a drive out to Shiloh Church and cemetery. This church was built in 1911 by a group of black people who had relocated from Oklahoma, U.S.A.

School has now been in session for over a week so students will be once again getting used to the weekly routine. Best wishes to all students for a happy and successful year.

Sept. 8 I had the pleasure to participate in the phone-in garden show on Blue Sky CBC Radio One. This show topics largely centered around the imminent frost that we expect in the next couple of days.

One individual remains at large after Little Pine First Nation was the scene of two violent home invasions last Friday. Friday, Sept 5 at 4:04 p.m., Cut Knife RCMP members responded to the scene.
