STREETER: It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Streeter, resident of River Heights Lodge, North Battleford, announce her passing on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the age of 96 years.

A dropped cellphone has led to the arrest of a 24-year-old man for theft. Police report the man is alleged to have hidden in a business in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 17, waiting for the business to close.

Last week proved a busy one in North Battleford provincial court with a number of well-publicized cases making their way there.

Taralyn Shae Donohue has been experiencing an ongoing journey since her participation in the Canadian Globe pageant last year.

NBCHS Drama Club competed at the provincial level this past weekend, bringing home four major awards. Competing against 10 other productions, NBCHS was given the award for Best Visual Production and had the runner up Best Technical Crew.

Ten Battlefords Art Club artists enjoyed the day Tuesday at the Don Ross Centre working and socializing. The Chapel Gallery will be hosting a gallery reception Tuesday, May 20 from 1 to 3 m. and 5 to 9 p.m.

The Battlefords North Stars and the Flin Flon Bombers completed the future considerations of a transaction that brought forward Cameron Blair to the North Stars.

The Meadow Lake RCMP responded to threats received at four schools within the city of Meadow Lake shortly after 1:00 p.m. Friday. Resources were mobilized to evacuate all schools involved. The evacuation was completed without incident.

Parents attending an information meeting about Grade 7s moving to the North Battleford Comprehensive High School in 2015 were told their children would have a home room and a home room teacher, unlike the Grade 8s and 9s, who have "home room" groups.
