The time capsule, to be buried in the spring, will hopefully surprise the citizens of North Battleford in 100 years, who will open it to discover something of our life today.

There's a new compact fire fighting vehicle in the ranks of North Battleford Fire Department. It is a 6x6 Polaris fire response vehicle.

It was an average 24-hour period for Battlefords RCMP as members responsed to just under 20 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14 Monday 7:55 a.m.

It was a busy weekend for Battlefords RCMP as the responded to more than 70 calls/occurrences between 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10 and 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13. More than 25 arrests were made for a variety of offences.

The Battlefords AAA Stars started off 2014 with three straight wins this past week in SMAAAHL action. Josh LaFramboise was the star of the weekend with five goals and six assists in the three games.
