Police interact with an ocean of intoxicated people

RCMP made 40 arrests during a period extending from 6 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30 and 6 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2. Police answered more than 130 calls for service over the three-day period, which included New Year's Eve.

Carol sing a seasonal treat

Alec Jeffrey is home after spending some time in Maidstone Hospital. We wish him continued return to good health. On Sunday afternoon, Dec. 15, the Lutheran Church sponsored a carol sing at Waseca Hall.

Ed, my neighbour next door, celebrated the New Year's Eve in style. He and Ruby always host a party that ushers out the old year, like a greased pig, and the New Year in like a newly hatched gosling.

Waseca Christmas service enjoyed

Marleen and Frank Gabrielle of Rosetown were visitors with Rose Danychuk. Their granddaughter was playing hockey here. Rose felt really honoured to have them visit her as she had taught Frank in 1947. That's a few years ago.

Dear Editor I read, with interest, Laura Prescesky's recollections of St. Mary's Anglican Church at Lilac ("Warm memories of Lilac church, Regional Optimist, Dec. 19). Laura does not recall any weddings. I have a vivid memory of a wedding.
