Dillon Forbes' third period goal was the game winner as the Battlefords North Stars beat the Ice Wolves 3-2 in LaRonge Wednesday night, extending the North Stars' win streak to five games.

North Battleford Housing Authority and Battleford Housing Authority have named the 2013 Yard Pride Contest winners.

The Battleford Midget B Sharks throttled the Melfort Mustangs in NSFHL action Saturday night. The Sharks took full advantage of a Mustangs team able to dress only eight skaters.

The school was full of white and green Nov. 22 as the SLC sponsored Rider Pride Day. There were T-shirts, jerseys, hats, socks, scarves and even pom-poms. A green Rider Nation flag was hanging in the foyer and we sent our best wishes to our team.

Battlefords RCMP were called to less than 20 occurrences between 6 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27 and Thursday, Nov. 28. Those calls ranged from child custody issues to break and enter and theft of gas. Wednesday 6:30 a.m.

Ed, my neighbor next door, has changed to his winter identity, as an invaluable bowler and curler. He is glad winter has taken over his farm, so he can get serious about being a celebrity at the bowling alley and curling rink.

It has been a busy, hockey-filled week for the Midget AA Barons with 5 games in 8 days. The Barons first of five was played Nov. 17 at the Civic Centre with a victory of 8-2 over the Warman Wildcats.

Leadership training Courses have always been a focus for the aquatic centre in North Battleford, and are even more so today with the new Battlefords Co-op Aquatic Centre.
