A 40-year-old man, who walked into Battlefords Union Hospital around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday suffering from stab wounds, is refusing to co-operate with a police investigation, according to Battlefords RCMP.

If last week was cold enough to freeze the cannon balls off the brass monkey, the cannon balls will really be rolling on the deck this week. Minus 30 temperatures and a wind chill over -40C were felt. Every year we get some of this weather.

Six false alarms were among the approximately 20 calls for service answered by Battlefords RCMP between 6 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10 and 6 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11. Tuesday 7:03 a.m.

HAGEN, Dennis: Dennis Hagen was born September 9, 1927 in North Battleford to Ole "Elmer" and Ella Hagen. His only brother Clifford was born five years earlier.

Battlefords North Stars goaltender Darren Martin was named the SJHL goaltender of the week for the period ending Dec. 8. The Calgary-native made one start for the North Stars during the week, a 2-1 shootout win over the Weyburn Red Wings.
