A 20-year-old North Battleford student has earned an honourable mention in a National Kitchen and Bath Association student design competition.

Yet another notable member of North Battleford city administration is departing. The retirement of Keith Anderson, a 25-year veteran who rose to become director of parks and recreation in recent years, was announced at council Monday.

The election for directors to the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce for 2014 is unusually competitive this time.

Battlefords AAA Stars goaltender Ryan Rewerts stopped all 15 shots en route to a 5-0 road shutout of the Beardy's Blackhawks Thursday night. Rewerts earned his 12th win and first shutout of the season.

Basketball season has started for the John Paul II Crusaders with tournaments over the past two weekends. The Crusaders senior girls basketball team hosted an eight team tournament Nov. 29 and 30.

The annual Christmas craft and trade sale was held in the Neilburg Community Hall Nov. 20 with 29 tables of items for sale.
