Dear Editor A Conservative mail-out asks "Who's on the right track to enhance Canada's fiscal strength?" An action listed is closing tax loopholes. Yes, it is right to close tax loopholes but more importantly the tax rates need to be right.

Well, another beautiful week with only a little drizzle on Wednesday morning to break the weather. A little shower like that helps fill the crops and brings them closer to harvest. A lot of canola has gone out of flower.

Howard Weitzel was born on Dec. 8, 1921, the third oldest child, to Alvin and Maude (Stevens) Weitzel at Edam. He received his elementary education (Grades 1 through 8) at Horse Hill School, which was located nine miles northwest of Edam.
