The Neilburg branch of the Lakeland Library has been a busy place recently. Story time was held June 14 and a time of games and crafts was held July 10. The summer reading program is now underway with prizes for participation.

Ira McKnight, from Indianapolis, Ind., will be inducted into the individual category of the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame as a player Aug. 17. McKnight, as a youth, played many sports.

NW winners in 4-H lotto

Several winners of the 17th annual Saskatchewan 4-H lottery reside in the Northwest. Among the winners was Derek Bertoia of Lloydminster won a John Deere Gator. Shaun Dubyk of Hafford won the deluxe custom ice fishing shack.

Feeding cheetahs and walking with elephants

Krista Dawn Gray was in Africa for a volunteer project at a cheetah conservation centre. She was there for two weeks and helped rebuild some of the enclosures and got to feed cheetahs. The next two weeks she travelled to Mozambique and Swaziland.
