Lodge takes a summer break

June 10 was the last St. Walburg Royal Purple meeting before the summer break. This was also Decoration Day, but due to a wet, dreary day, members were unable to visit the graves of departed Royal Purple members.

The Borden Friendship Club hosted seniors from Radisson and Maymont at their annual supper and program June 11, with 70 guests enjoying the great meal catered by Dianne and Bernice.

Turning 50? 1963 trends and facts

June 22 is drawing near and we're getting excited for our potluck and jam session at the Maymont Hall. Doors open at 4 p.m.; supper is at 6 p.m. Come rock and roll before supper and then again after supper.

There were 32 competitors from eight different clubs, who came from all over the northwest region to attend the Battlefords regional show June 9. Our judge for the day was Sonja Wilkenson from Vermilion, Alta.

Auxiliary takes summer break

Members of the Maidstone Legion Ladies' Auxiliary met June 4 with eight members present. There wasn't too much business to be discussed. The group will be recessed for July and August. Hope we will see you all after the holiday.

What a real outdoor adventure it would be to paddle a canoe on the North Saskatchewan River from Rocky Mountain House, Alta. all the way to Montreal, Que.
