Jan. 14, Honoured Royal Lady Georgina Schnelder welcomed 23 members of the St. Walburg Royal Purple to the first meeting in 2013 by wishing a happy, prosperous New Year to all.

Ed, my neighbor next door, and I can agree on a few things, but often it gets down to head shaking, muttering and the feeling between us both that the thinking of the other one is off track or derailed all together.

Here are some highlights from Monday's council meeting in North Battleford. Final approval was given to amendments to the Animal Protection Bylaw imposing some hikes in fines.

Wow - that's all I can say. Thank you, everyone who performed and who came to our Telemiracle fundraiser. The weather was crappy but there must have been at least 200 people who enjoyed an afternoon of gospel music.

Country Corners Multiple 4-H has been busy. Club jackets were purchased and they all look very nice. The beef project did a mini-judging clinic on member made collages. The beef tour is planned for Feb 18.

One observation I am having when working with parents is that children who come from a two parent house seem to go to bed better when both parents are home and engaged in the bedtime routine.

Will he or won't he? I am longing for Mr. Groundhog to predict an early spring. This darn winter started way too early and I am ready for thoughts of spring.

Life seems to get busier and time seems to fly by. Christmas is behind us and we are creeping up on Valentine's Day. The one thing that doesn't seem to want to fly by is winter.
