When Mother Nature decides to make her own snowballs it's one of the most arresting phenomena of winter. Also known as snow rollers, these quirky looking mounds of snow popped up recently in the fields near Wilbert on Highway 40 heading east.

Ten prairie women will begin an 1,800 km snowmobile ride today for breast cancer research. This year's journey will be the 13th for the Prairie Women on Snowmobiles-sponsored Ride for the Cure.

The Battlefords Scuba Community invited the public to join them at one of the regular dive sessions in early January at the Battlefords Co-op Aquatic Centre. Eighteen members were joined by seven new faces who shared in the activities.

July 2, 2012: Community gathered to celebrate the 100th annual Minnehaha Picnic. Festivities were held at the site of the original Minnehaha School, on the hill west of Jackfish Creek. Over 100 signed the guest book.

Margaret Lommer is one of Hafford's original residents and historian. She fondly tells the story of how the land, where the Town of Hafford is located, was obtained.

Hafford Cheremka Dance Club hosted its 28th consecutive annual Malanka celebration at the Hafford Communiplex Jan. 19.

The Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League will wrap up the regular season on Saturday with two games, but it was a busy week for teams leading up to the final weekend.

It was an active weekend of minor hockey action at Don Ross Arena and Battleford Arena on the weekend. The event was the Battlefords Minor Hockey Association's Atom A Tournament.

Congratulations to all the young people who submitted wonderful music-themed art work ideas to be considered for use on this year's Battlefords Kiwanis Music Festival program. The winner will be chosen this week.
