Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Olwin Eileen Olsen who passed away in Saskatoon Jan. 6 at the age of 97. She was born at Esther, Alta. in May of 1915.

Last week I submitted a photo and a wee rant about the pigeon droppings on 100th Street. When I commented on the owner of the building, I just meant he lived in another country so, because of that, we have never seen him.

I think almost everyone would agree on the need for an "enough already with the snow" movement. I've lived in Battleford for 20 years and this is the most snow I've ever seen.

Water main break

15th Avenue in North Battleford is closed between 112th Street and Territorial Drive. The Department of Public Works and Engineering is investigating a possible water main break.

No shortage of snow for annual rally

And it snows and it snows and it snows. Sunday, my son and I went out to Meeting Lake to do some ice fishing and although we were not successful catching fish, walking in the deep snow provided a workout.

Prairie Women on Snowmobiles (PWOS) will be making their trek through the Hafford area this year. The 13th annual eight-day mission ride to raise funds for breast cancer research begins Feb. 1 and will hit Hafford on the seventh day of the tour, Feb.
