Ed, my neighbour next door, has threatened to throw his television out the window. He is frustrated over the NHL hockey situation so far this season.

I belong here in this place. I've had chances to leave Saskatchewan, but I've always made the choice to stay here. I've loved it all of my life and am constantly surprised by natural beauty and the people all around me.

There will be faces new and old at council meetings around the Battlefords, with new mayors and councillors being elected in many communities. In Blaine Lake, former councillor Andy Ciona was elected as mayor.

When did November sneak up on us? And how about that darn winter, didn't it catch us by surprise having four major snowfalls in four days, making for rotten road conditions and slippery walking? Yikes! Winter, is it here to stay or just teasing us? I

Well, winter found us with a vengeance! Although no one has measured, I am sure we have had over six inches of snow and it is still October. The faces for the Village of Rabbit Lake council changed Oct. 24.

A boot to the woman who was working at our local bus depot on Friday evening Oct. 26. I had been away several days and upon arrival at our depot I immediately called a taxi. At 7:30 p.m.

Dear Editor The Green Party of Saskatchewan likes the Wall Government's decision to propose a heritage fund for the province. This is long overdue for Saskatchewan.

The 22nd annual Edam Fall Fair was held in the Edam Community Centre Oct. 26 and 27. The event started with the People's Choice Cow Calf Pair class Friday evening. In conjunction with this class was the Friday appreciation night.

One patron considered staying in out of the wintery weather, then decided, "I need some music for my soul." Braving a cold wind and North Battleford's snowy streets Sunday, she found what she sought at Third Avenue United Church.
