Celebration of excellence held at NCS

Neilburg Composite School students in the elementary grades were honoured and celebrated for excellence at an event held in the school gym, June 27. The afternoon program was led by vice-principal Brenda Gross as the master of ceremonies.

Clarence Stone receives one-year conditional sentence

Judge Danyliuk delivered Clarence Stone's sentence in Regina recently, giving him a one-year conditional sentence and 200 hours of community service. Stone had served as Chief of Mosquito First Nation for a total of 16 years between 1992 and 2011.

The Edam community centennial was celebrated over three days June 29 to July 1, drawing estimated crowds of 1,500 to 2,000 people to a wide range of activities culminating in the official opening, on June 30, of a newly renovated community centre.
