It is funny sometimes what I take for granted.

This province is home to many who like to read and many talented, award winning and recognizable writers. Saskatchewan Library Week will be celebrated in libraries across the province Oct. 17 to 24. This year the theme is "Read Local.

The plethora of fallen leaves is leaving no doubt we are into fall. But with warm temperatures adding to the beauty, we can enjoy this autumn season.

Mega-Volley has come and gone for another year in Maidstone. The popular tournament is played on courts in the Maidstone arena, the high school and the elementary gyms. The first weekend is for senior play and the second is for junior.

The Battlefords North Stars are in the middle of a five-game road stretch and entering Tuesday's game in Nipawin they were 3-0 on the road. They are perfect on the road no more.

The St. Walburg detachment of the RCMP is investigating a fatal industrial accident 30 kilometres north of Glaslyn along Highway 4. Late Wednesday afternoon, RCMP in Turtleford received a 911 call to go to an asphalt plant north of Glaslyn.
