The provincial Green party continues to line up its candidates in the northwest region as they continue to prepare for the November 7 provincial election.

BELLANGER: Andre "Andy" George Bellanger passed away peacefully in the Battleford Union Hospital, North Battleford on Monday, August 1, 2011 at the age of 83 years.

After some recent monthly declines, building permits and permit values are once again back up in North Battleford for the month of June.

Wally Harasen was born in the Yorkton area on Jan. 15, 1913. During Harasen's playing career in the 1930s is he made a strong impression on those who watched him.

RCMP are currently on the lookout for an individual wanted on an outstanding warrant. His name is Edward (Ted) Keith Geddes, age 64 from Cut Knife, Saskatchewan. He is described as caucasian with gray hair, hazel eyes, 180 cm tall and weighs 82 kg.

In the early 1960s I made my first steps in the English language at school in Mannheim, Germany. My first name Ruediger turned into Roger among friends I had met there.

Unity RCMP are looking for information about the theft of a 2010 Precision Mini-Dump hydraulic lift trailer. According to police, the trailer was stolen sometime between 9 a.m. on July 27 and 11 a.m. Aug. 2 from a construction yard in Denzil.

The 15th Annual Polkafest took place in Hafford July 8 and 9. The weekend was full of activity that included dancing to three bands, a polka mass, pancake breakfast and a jam for local musicians.

Battlefords RCMP are seeking help from the public in locating a missing person. They are trying to locate Ronald William Peequaquat, a 45 year old, who was last seen Saturday, June 25 leaving a residence on the Red Pheasant First Nation.
