Anton Belous was born Jan 17, 1904 and was a typical farm boy growing up. The son of Russian immigrants, he had come to find a land of peace and freedom. He came from a family of 12 children and loved his God, and loved his baseball.

Blooming lilies attract guests
Honeywood (Dr. A.J. Porter) Heritage Nursery near Parkside held another successful Lilies in Bloom event July 17 with over 400 guests visiting the site. The huge tent area was a relief from the heat of the sun to the many that attended.

Two students at Neilburg Composite School, Leah Timmermans and Kristen Schmidt, were recipients of the Credit Union Award for obtaining the highest mark in Math/Science. Both received a $1,000 scholarship.

The Delta Co-op proudly held the grand re-opening of its C-Store, July 21. The C-Store originally opened in 2000. In 2008 it hit the $7 million mark making it the most profitable department of Delta Co-op.

The weather co-operated July 24 for Radisson's Show and Shine along Main St. On a sunny afternoon, 78 vintage cars and trucks, 15 vintage snowmobiles and three motorcycles were on display.
