The Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Battlefords are now at a new location with a spectacular view of the city. The new offices are at office No. 703, 1101-101st St., on the seventh floor of the RBC Tower.

Landfill construction contract awarded

The tender has been awarded for the construction of cell number three of the North Battleford landfill. Lux Construction was awarded the tender at a Feb.

Apology accepted for vandalism

The City of North Battleford is accepting an apology from five youths who vandalized signs in the city. The five youths committed the vandalism on the night of Jan. 29. The youths removed road signs from the road.

Mentorship program coming: Chamber

The Battlefords Chamber of Commerce is looking to set up a mentorship program for new business people. That was one of the items to come out of a Feb. 15 meeting of the Chamber of Commerce board of directors.

North Battleford will be hosting the world premiere of a unique French-language play Feb. 23. The play called La Maculee/sTain will be performing at 8 p.m. at North Battleford Comprehensive High School.

City introduces traffic bylaw changes

North Battleford city council is moving ahead with plans to hike fines for traffic violations. Council voted Feb. 15 to pass first and second reading to bylaw changes that would increase a number of fines as part of its Traffic Bylaw.

Out of scope salaries to go up four per cent

Salaries for out of scope City of North Battleford employees are set to increase by four per cent this year. That increase was approved by resolution at a Feb. 14 city council meeting. Out of scope salaries include those for mayor and council.
