A murder re-trial got under way last week at Queen's Bench Court House in Battleford involving a Lloydminster killing in 2005.

A bouquet to the honest Samaritan who found my car key at McDonald's and left it on my truck, and to the considerate lady who offered me her phone and drove me home. Special thanks to you both. We do have honest, caring people in our community.

Things have been extremely slow in the news department in our area. However, I will report what I have got so far. It will be short and sweet. The Handi-Van Committee held the first bingo of the new year Jan. 14 in the seniors' centre at 7:30 p.m.

Dale and Debbie Kennedy of Lloydminster were here visiting their mom, Theresa Kennedy. Theresa spent some time watching them play in the shuffleboard tournament at the Legion Club Room. We extend sympathy to the Kozoriz family on Bill's passing.

The bill for the Credit Union CUPlex could be about to go through the roof.

The issue of nuclear power in the province was back in the news last week with word that the provincial government was considering small-scale nuclear reactors for the province.
