The Battlefords AAA Sharks took a depleted roster to Saskatoon to take on the Stars Saturday.

The Canadian Junior Hockey League's prospects game has become an annual tradition for hockey fans and scouts for six years. Last week, it was announced two Battlefords North Stars will be part of that tradition.

Battlefords Search and Rescue's November meeting was another small gathering, continuing a trend of dwindling numbers for the group of volunteers.

The Battlefords North Stars' annual parents and billets weekend included an auction for the game worn pink jerseys. In total $3,855 was raised and will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society for breast cancer research.

As the Grey Cup loss sets in as reality for Saskatchewan Roughriders fans, the water cooler talk of the day was on Darian Durant and the interception he tossed up late in the fourth quarter in Edmonton.

Well that's that. The Saskatchewan Roughriders' centennial season of 2010 ended in anti-climactic fashion with a 21-18 loss to the Montreal Alouettes in the 98th Grey Cup at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium Sunday.

The Battlefords North Stars played their first three of seven straight road games and returned with one win. The North Stars played La Ronge Thursday in Stanley Mission.
