A 61-year-old man is dead following a head-on collision between a car and a semi-trailer unit on Hwy. 5 east of Humboldt on July 20. A car was traveling westbound on Hwy.

The death of Mr. Raymond "Ray" Rudolph Schmeiser of Bethany Pioneer Village, Middle Lake, SK, (and formerly of Fulda and Humboldt, SK), occurred at Humboldt District Hospital on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. He was 86 years of age.

The death of Mrs. Shirley Joyce Strain (Dunn), 77 years, of Humboldt, SK occurred at Humboldt District Hospital on July 12, 2011 surrounded by her family. Shirley was born to William and Isabel Dunn in Ellisboro, Saskatchewan on May 7, 1934.

Mr. Henry Michael Bohmann, 74 years of Humboldt, SK passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Humboldt District Hospital. Henry was born on July 19, 1936 in the Annaheim district to William and Bertha (nee Kunz) Bohmann.

MABEL ANN LUKENOFF (née Konkin) May 30, 1920 - July 14, 2011. The family of Mabel Lukenoff are saddened to announce her passing on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Humboldt, Saskatchewan at the age of 91 years.

They're a young club with a new name, and they're hosting Provincials at the end of the month. The newly renamed Humboldt Hammerheads Swim Team is hosting the Provincial Summer Swim Club meet July 30-31 at the Humboldt Aquatic Centre.

Partners seeking support, funding for shelter

My husband has been seeing Dr. Mahrous since she came to Humboldt. She has provided him with great care over this time and we are saddened to see her go, but we understand the stress there is in her job. We wish her well out east with her family.

The Muenster Bantam Red Sox won the Bantam A Provincial Championship in Melfort July 16-17. The Sox defeated Unity in the final 9-4, but it wasn't an easy road to get there. The team finished round robin play with two wins one loss.
