It was a great experience for a local musician. Gerard Weber, a saxophone player from Humboldt, recently placed second in his category in the National Music Festival in Antigonish, Nova Scotia August 11-13.

September will be a busy month for the Humboldt Big Brothers Big Sisters organization (BBBS). The month has been declared as the official BBBS month and the organization has started making big plans to promote their organization in the community.

WILSON: The death of Mrs. Denise Anne (nee Zimmerman) Wilson of the Annaheim district occurred at Humboldt Airport, Humboldt, SK, on Saturday, August 20, 2011. She was 40 years of age.

BLOCK :The family is sad to announce that Mrs. Elsie Block, of LeRoy, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the age of 89. Elsie was born on December 9, 1921 in Wartega, Poland to Gustav and Saraphine (Zacharias) Adam.

LEUSCHEN: Joe Leuschen passed away peacefully as a result of brain cancer at Agape Hospice, Calgary AB at the age of 55 years. Joe grew up near Bruno, SK, 7th child of Martin and Loretta (Knoke) Leuschen.

They came, they visited, and they liked what they saw at the Humboldt District Health Complex (HDHC) on Saturday, August 20.

All eyes were on Saskatchewan Express at the Sizzlin' Summer Firehall Fundraiser in Englefeld, Sunday, August 21.

People came from miles around to buy a piece of history. It was an event that lasted all day at St. Elizabeth Convent in Humboldt, where hundreds of items were put up for auction on August 20.

Citizens of Humboldt will see a major change while driving through the city. The lights at the intersection of Highway 5 and Highway 20 - or Main Street and 8th Avenue - will undergo major changes this week.

This year, the Humboldt Dodgers had one of the best experiences a team could ever have. It had already been quite a season for the 16-18-year-old AAA Midget players who won the provincial title in July.
