Archeologists were out at the Original Humboldt Site during the week of August 1 to continue work they started in 2010. A crew of professionals and volunteers were out in the hot sun to make new discoveries at the site.

For a young hockey player from Humboldt to be part of the first annual All-Canadians Mentorship hockey camp this summer was an unforgettable experience.

DIRCKS -It is with great sadness and regret we announce the passing of our father Lloyd Herman Dircks at the age of 84. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 22, 2011 at Humboldt District Hospital.

DUNNE: Dennis Dunne of Redvers, SK, passed away suddenly as the result of a motor vehicle accident on Saturday, July 30, 2011, just south of Redvers. He was 48 years of age.

Marie Genevieve HilgersMay 14, 1923 - August 7, 2011 The death of Mrs. Marie Genevieve (nee Hinz) Hilgers of St. Mary's Villa, Humboldt, SK, (and formerly of Muenster, SK), occurred at her residence on Sunday, August 7, 2011. She was 88 years of age.

WOLFE: Our dad, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle and friend joined his wife in heaven on Tuesday, August 9, 2011.

GJERDE: Mrs. Flora Gjerde, 91 years, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011 at the Watson Health Center. Flora was born on October 12, 1919 the 11th child out of 15 to John and Albena (nee Danis) Rondeau in the Wadena District.

STRUNK: Mrs. Eda (nee Nordick) Strunk of Quill Plains Centennial Lodge, Watson, (and formerly of Englefeld, SK), passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, August 5, 2011. She was 91 years of age.

The death of Mr. Sebastian Joseph Zimmer of St. Mary's Villa, Humboldt, SK, occurred at Humboldt District Hospital on Saturday, July 30, 2011. He was 87 years of age.

In spite of threatening clouds in the sky, the July 28 fundraiser in memory of Rayna Korte was a resounding success, bringing in a total of $4,316 for the Children's Hospital of Saskatchewan.
