CARROT RIVER — The Carrot River school fundraising committee has raised $1.165 million for amenities for the new facility including a second gymnasium, weight room and applied arts shop.

NIPAWIN — Nipawin’s facilities, including the pool and Evergreen Centre, are moving back to full capacity post-restrictions although cleaning protocols are planned to remain very similar.

Sagehill Community Futures has announced a new loan program designed to help small businesses as they adjust to the post-pandemic world. The Booster Loan Program provides up to $25,000 to small businesses for operating expenses.

HUMBOLDT — A number of buildings along Humboldt’s Main Street, as well as an elementary school, have been vandalized. Humboldt RCMP said the crimes took place during the evening hours of July 8.

MELFORT — Melfort council unanimously passed a motion designating a stretch of Saskatchewan Drive as Veteran’s Way following a push by Melfort Communities in Bloom.

There will be a walk-in vaccine clinic in Nipawin tomorrow. The clinic will be at the Evergreen Centre Tuesday, July 13 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The vaccine being used is Moderna.

CARROT RIVER — Carrot River will move forward with a middle ground to cleaning protocols, said Brennan Hall, the town’s administrator, continuing to use the equipment and cleaning techniques from the pandemic, but less often.

HUMBOLDT — Carlton Trail College has entered into a partnership to offer a welding applied certificate for free to 36 individuals in specific underrepresented groups in an effort to combat industry recruitment problems.

EAST CENTRAL — Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the region this weekend.
