NIPAWIN — The Town of Nipawin has issued a temporary water restriction and is advising town residents to restrict water usage as much as possible.

HUMBOLDT — A sense of fun and adventure unites the stories told by the Humboldt and District Museum’s latest set of exhibits. Stories of Humboldt: Chapter 4 features tales from Humboldt’s beginning in 1903 to 1982.

MELFORT — In response to the heatwave, Melfort has extended the hours at Spruce Haven Spray Park, opening at 10 a.m. daily and going from closing at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The spray park operates daily on a self-activated sensor system.

CARROT RIVER — Carrot River council has passed a motion authorizing administration to seek out a $200,000 loan in order to meet quotes for the Main Street paving project – bringing the total cost to about $992,000.

Ottawa and its critics agree there is much more work to be done to achieve Transport Canada’s goal of phasing out the sale of internal combustion engine vehicles by 2035, but plans have stalled until the United States sets its course.

HUMBOLDT — Curlers at the Humboldt Uniplex will have new flooring to break in during the upcoming season, with the city tendering out the work for the centre walkway and the west stairwell for the curling rink.

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency highlighted five wildfires as being threats to communities. Steve Roberts, vice-president of operations for the agency, provided an update to media on July 15. He said there were 129 active fires.

Weather is sparking new wildfire worries for communities in northern Saskatchewan.
