HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt and Area Pride Network is creating a new program for parents and caregivers of LGBT+ individuals of any age.

NIPAWIN — Nipawin will be adding a crokicurl arena to the town this winter, giving residents and guests a chance to play the sport that’s been spreading throughout the region.

HUMBOLDT — Carlton Trail College presented 72 scholarships and five bursaries worth $76,000 at an awards ceremony at the Bella Vista Inn.

LANIGAN — An abandoned house on Lanigan’s Antrim Street was broken into, causing damage to the residence. Humboldt-Lanigan RCMP said the crime took place between Oct. 30 and Nov. 5.

TISDALE — The Tisdale Trojans are hitting the road. The Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League team plays its next four games on the road. In fact, 10 of the Trojans’ next 11 contests, stretching into 2020, are away from the Tisdale RECplex.

WAKAW — A speed enforcement camera is going to be installed at the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 41 near Wakaw. According to SGI, 42 per cent of vehicles travelling through the intersection on Highway 41 exceeded the posted speed limit.

HUMBOLDT — The City of Humboldt is getting into the Christmas season and hopes everyone will join them with two new events coming up in December. Dec. 7 will see the community come together for the Community Tree Lighting ceremony at City Hall.

HUMBOLDT — Humboldt’s hometown rink held its own at the Canadian Curling Club Championships last week. Skip Aaron Gaudreau, vice-skip Jason Schlachter, second Tom Johnson, and lead Joel McDonald went 3-3 in pool play in Leduc, Alta.

HUMBOLDT — With some wheeling and dealing the last few weeks, the Humboldt Broncos have a new look. Various trades have brought new faces to town. The biggest deals drew a familiar player back to the Broncos.
